How much of this is genetic, biological, or cultural, I have no idea. Perhaps the way we measure IQ gives greater attention to certain skills which males have in greater abundance than females, and ignores skills which women excel in. H. L. Mencken, in "The Masculine Bag of Tricks" argued that men were better at trivial skills (law, medicine, mathematics require rather modest intelligence and no wisdom), while women had more valuable abilities.
